Cookie Policy
Last updated: 2 June 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how Referrals uses cookies and similar technologies on our website and platform at referrals.ie. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work, to keep them secure, and to remember information about your visit (such as whether you are signed in).
Similar technologies, such as tokens stored by your browser, may be used for the same purposes. In this policy, references to “cookies” include these similar technologies.
2. Cookies we use
We only use cookies that are strictly necessary to operate, secure, and provide the Referrals platform. We do not use analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies, and we do not use Google Analytics.
Because these cookies are essential to the operation of the service, they do not require consent.
Essential cookies set by Referrals
| Cookie | Purpose | Type | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
referrals-session |
Maintains your session and signed-in state as you move between pages of the platform. Without it, the service cannot keep you logged in or remember your activity within a session. | Essential | Session (expires when the session lifetime ends, typically a few hours) |
XSRF-TOKEN |
A security cookie that protects against cross-site request forgery (CSRF) by verifying that requests, such as form submissions, genuinely came from you. | Essential / security | Session |
remember_web_* |
Keeps you signed in between visits. This cookie is only set if you choose the “Remember me” option when you log in. | Essential / functional | Persistent (up to several weeks, until you sign out) |
Cookies set by Cloudflare
We use Cloudflare to deliver, secure, and protect the website. Cloudflare sits in front of our service and may set the following essential security cookies. These help keep the platform available and protect it from malicious traffic.
| Cookie | Purpose | Type | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
__cf_bm |
Cloudflare’s bot management cookie. It helps distinguish legitimate visitors from automated bots to protect the site from abuse. It does not store personal information and is not used for advertising. | Essential / security | Approximately 30 minutes |
cf_clearance |
Set when a visitor passes a Cloudflare security check (for example a challenge or CAPTCHA). It records that the check was completed so you are not repeatedly challenged. | Essential / security | Up to one year (set only when a security challenge is presented) |
Cloudflare may set other strictly necessary cookies where specific protections (such as a waiting room or rate limiting) are enabled. You can read more about Cloudflare’s cookies in Cloudflare’s documentation.
Consent management cookies
We use the InMobi Choice consent management platform (CMP) to record and respect your cookie preferences. The CMP itself sets a small number of cookies to remember the choices you have made, so that you are not asked again on every visit.
| Cookie | Purpose | Type | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
euconsent-v2 |
Stores your consent choices in the IAB Transparency & Consent Framework (TCF) format, so they can be respected on return visits. | Essential / preference | Up to 13 months |
addtl_consent |
Stores additional consent choices for vendors not registered with the IAB framework, where applicable. | Essential / preference | Up to 13 months |
3. Cookies we do not use
We do not use:
- Analytics or performance cookies (including Google Analytics)
- Advertising or marketing cookies
- Social media or third-party tracking cookies
If we introduce analytics, advertising, or other non-essential cookies in the future, we will update this Cookie Policy and, where required by law, request your consent before setting them.
4. Managing cookies
Because the cookies we use are strictly necessary, the platform may not function correctly if they are blocked, for example you may be unable to sign in or stay signed in.
Most browsers let you view, manage, and delete cookies through their settings. You can usually find these options in your browser’s privacy or security menu. Blocking or deleting cookies may affect your ability to use parts of the platform.
5. Changes to this Cookie Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the cookies we use or for legal or operational reasons. The latest version will always be available on referrals.ie.
6. Contact us
If you have any questions about our use of cookies, please contact us at admin@referrals.ie.
